‘Sacred Games’ Netflix Hearing In Delhi High Court

A plea was filed on 11 July in Delhi High Court was appealed to remove some scenes from the series of Netflix Sacred games, suggesting that its content was derogatory to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

The plea, arguing that some of the scenes and dialogues in the show, defamed the former prime minister, had already been mentioned earlier the same day before a meeting consisting on the bench comprising Acting chief judge Gita Mittal and Justice C. Harry Shankar which allowed it to be listed in the afternoon. When it comes to hearing, Judge Mittal recused herself without giving any reasons. The call will be heard by another bench on 12th July.

The complaint against Netflix, Nawazuddin, Phantom Productions, Vikramaditya Motvain, Anurag Kashyap and the Government of India seeks to transmit a stream of an episode of sacred games and erase some of the episode containing subtle and insulting remarks against former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
