New Rs. 500, Rs. 2000 Currency Notes to Be Available at ATMs from Friday: Government said

New hard to fake Rs 500 crore, and 2000 notes will be available at ATMs when start working again on Friday, said Finance Minister Ashok Lavasa.

“There will be some difficulties that (people) will be facing, but also for their convenience, a number of steps that have been taken by the government, there are facilities to withdraw money from an ATM and currency exchange at banks, withdraw money from accounts,” he said, that the government remove Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes from circulation, to deal with black money and counterfeit currency. People, he said, did not understand the ultimate goal of this step. “And I’m sure that they will cooperate in the fight against the difficulties and inconveniences they may encounter. And ultimately, things will settle down soon.”

Lavasa said that people need money for the replacement, so that the replacement of the currency is being introduced.

“RBI will very strictly observed it,” he said. “Therefore, for doing any transaction there are various ways for the government intends to move to a cashless transaction is less.” ATMs will be opened on Friday, and in many places they will be open on Thursday, he said, adding the new notes will be made available in ATMs.

“If there is anything necessarily to be done by them, I’m sure they will consider and adopt an appropriate decision at the right time,” he said.
