Why We Celebrate Mother’s Day Every Year

The modern Mother’s Day has one person to thank for making this day, a national day of celebration and who is none other than Anna Jarvis. Mother of Anna Jarvis founded mother’s day clubs in American cities to improve sanitation and health, as well as for the treatment of soldiers with neutrality.

After the death of her mother, Anna campaign to not only one Mother’s Day as a Memorial Day to her own mother, but as a national holiday and a day of celebration for mothers all over the world.

Mother’s Day is celebrated on the fourth Sunday in Lent in the UK, but also in their country of origin, the United States, it is celebrated on the second Sunday of May. It marks one full day of gratitude for the mother of the family, who receive cards and gifts.

Like most days of celebration, religion also plays a role in the celebration of Mother’s Day with the Catholic Church through the day in honor of the Virgin Mary, to change the name of motherhood Sunday.

In Hinduism, the mother honoured for two weeks, starting with the new moon in April/May, and is an important part of their religious culture for several hundred years before the Western civilization adopted it.
