  6. Until the mid-19th century, golf balls, as a rule, are not made of feathers that have been boiled and then stuffed into a leather pouch, which was later sewn in the shape of a ball.
  7. The first golf balls used in the 16th century, is believed to have been made from wood.
  8. Not all golf balls have the same number of dimples. Golf balls are anywhere from 330 to 500 depending on the design of the ball by the company. The ideal ball will usually between 380 and 432 dimples.
