Earth is an amazing planet. At this time, you can see only a tiny blue speck from space, upon closer inspection, it is far from negligible. Earth is fifth largest planet in the solar system, and the third planet from the sun.

Water occupy about 70% of the Earth’s surface, and its polar caps contain about 70% of fresh water reserves on the planet. The diameter of the Earth is 12,756 km, and it rotates around its own axis, tilting 23½ degrees. It is this tilt, which allows us to experience the four seasons. It also rotates on its axis at a speed of 1670 km/h.

Earth’s interior consists of 4 layers. The crust is mainly made of aluminum, and it is contrary to popular belief, the earth is not a perfect sphere. Its north and south poles are a little flat, which makes it an oblate spheroid. Earth is the only planet in the solar system, which took its name from the Roman or Greek mythology.
